Someone uses Mobile Trail Explorer

I must have done something right about the Mobile Trail Explorer software as it seems that someone is really using it. Latest version have already been downloaded 856 times in less then a month according to the Google Code’s file list and this doesn’t even include direct over-the-air or plain JAR and JAD file downloads.

The Open Source concept have really amazed me the most. I have received several code contributions and many feature ideas from the users. I originally coded the application for a my own needs as I wanted to record my mountain biking trips and it seems that there are many people with the same needs.

So what about the future of the software? Don’t worry, it isn’t finished yet :) There are still plenty of ideas to implement and many improvements to be made. There’s even some collaboration starting to exist as Mario have joined the project team and he has already contributed nice features that you will see in the future versions.

As I wrote on the Mobile Trail Explorer page, I have created an user group in the Google Groups service so that application users and developers can discuss problems and ideas about the software with a proper discussion tools compared to the Wordpress commenting feature. Please visit the discussion list and leave your comment if you are using the application (or even if not)!
