OpenStreetMap Surveyor Feature

Mobile Trail Explorer v1.13 contains a new feature which is called OpenStreetMap Surveyor. With this feature all you OSM users can add common places to your OSM trails very easily. This is how you can active this feature:

  1. Choose “Keys” section from Settings menu
  2. Choose which key you want to configure, # or *
  3. Choose “Surveyor” action for selected key

Now you can activate the feature by clicking the selected key while you are recording your trail. When key is clicked you are shown a list of predefined placemarks from which you can select correct entry. This way it is quite easy to add bus stops etc. while you are walking, biking or driving around.

    Hello Sir,
I am currently working on a mobile phone based initiative that measures the air quality(co, carbon dioxide, ozone, etc) of streets as i drive/cycle around(am stuck). Data will be read from a designed circuit with a group of sensors which has also bluetooth hardware which transmits data to through the phone based bluetooth. Somehow this should be displayed in trail explorer and also relayed to a central server where citizens interested with pollution issues can access them. Please advice how to go about. Can mobile trail explorer work with Nokia E61i

  3. @orto: Yes, you should be able to modify the Mobile Trail Explorer to work as you described.
