TwimGo Teaser – Maemo/MeeGo Twitter Client

What if your Twitter client would look like this? I’ve seen that only few iPhone apps take advantage of portrait view. I made it so that you can see more tweet details in the portrait view and even apply some actions like retweet or reply.

What do you think? Would you use a client like this? What features or user experience you’d like to see in the app?

I have to say that I like it a lot :)

so disappointed that I’m still on Symbian, as this looks like a good development

Thanks :) This might even work on the Symbian devices as it is developed on Qt WRT platform. I just would need to get my hands on one of touch based Symbian devices.

    Hi
I like it a lot, at least it looks like a real twitter client for Maemo. I have tried witter and I find it much too overloaded. When will this be available? :-)

    Hi,

I really like the UI, that’s a really interesting use of the portrait mode, I can’t wait to see it running on my N900!

    Please keep us posted :)

How can we install TwimGo? I could not find it in the repositories.

  • http://www.substanceofcode.com Tommi Laukkanen

You can’t install it, yet. I’m baking some authentication code in JavaScript and once that is ready I’m pretty close to first alpha release. I’ll keep you posted :)

Very very good client. We re waiting for it dude:)

Would be delighted to try. One issue I do have though is intermittent connectivity.

At home & work 3G is bordering/patchy & even at work I will sometimes loose wifi in certain areas, so interested to hear how it copes with a lack of connectivity. It can be a large effort to address this but I’d like to see tweets queued ultimately – first stage would just be to preserve text & allow resubmission

  • n00bert

weeee, very impatient to have an ownage twitter app!!

    ill be waiting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • http://www.substanceofcode.com Tommi Laukkanen

Thanks! I really hope the app will fill at least some of your expectations :) Don’t expect much for the first alpha release…

  • hotzigetty

if it does even half the things i think it does it’ll be awesome!!
ps: do you plan to add lists support and geotagging, etc?? could i request mobypicture upload at a later stage??

    thanks!!

This is sth that I’ve been waiting for a long time, looks pretty amazing!

Just one request, can u make it support the custome API option for Chinese users to connect to Twitter without using VPN, due to the stupid restriction policy by Chinese Gov, people can not get on to twitter unless you get a VPN or custom API. That’s why Gravity is so popular in China, and they buy Gravity simply because: 1st UI looks decent, TwimGo as well; 2) the author of Gravity build his own API server for user, because they pay for the app, but u can just leave an option there if TwimGo is a free app

I’m living in the UK but orginally from China, so I definitely would like to see this app become the best twitter client on N900, also, my fellows are not ignored :)

    Cheers
