Get Things Done with MeeToDo

I like to get things done. Sometimes there are just too many things in your “inbox” so you’ll better write them down. If you follow something like Getting Things Done (GTD) method your to-do tool should support categories or hierarchies.

I’ve written few GTD apps before like Mobile Task Manager (Java ME) and TaskFlow (Widget) and now that I received my lovely Nokia N950 I had to make an app for that too and obvious technology was Qt Quick as that also gets things done :)

So, here is the first alpha version of the to-do / GTD app called MeeToDo. It currently has minimal set of features: Lists and tasks. User can add new tasks pretty fast and can mark them done with a single tap. There is also a “purge” features which I find handy e.g. doing grocery shopping.

I tried to follow the analog user interface of the best GTD tool, paper and pen. Main view shows user a page from notebook with list of task lists. When list is selected it jumps on the right hand page. When single task is selected or added it animates a page flip and shows a task page.

I compiled it to Symbian^3, Maemo (Nokia N900) and MeeGo Harmattan (Nokia N950 and N9). Please test it out and let me know what you think of it?

    Maybe integration with ToodleDo?

  • Аркадий Глазов

I try it on Nokia E7. It’s need for me! Thank’s. Has problems with the font size and attributes after “mark as resolved”, but it is work! Thank’s

Do you mean that font size is too small or too large?

      • NL

At least on N8 the font is huge. Same font size as in NewsFlow headers would be ok.

i can’t delete lists. when i delete list, it disappears, but after restarting the app it’s visible again… i use the symbian version on a n8 pr 1.2. qt is properly installed.

    Hi Tommi!
    Maemo user experience here.
Already after watching the video i thought that the buttons(the bottom menu) are too small.
I really like the animation but think that it could be a bit faster.
But HEY, this is another great APP from You!

Just a quick question for Tommi:

Is com.meego/1.0 available on all these devices or just the N950? how about desktop?

The Components library seems very powerful, but there are
    at the moment
too many variants of the API (e.g. com.meego, com.nokia.symbian, qt.labs, qt.labs.native and so on) that work only on a limited number of devices. It would be nice to know how you have managed this on multiple devices.

    Hey tommi,
thanks for all the great apps you have written, but i can i ask you to compile a non qt installer version for this app? its wont install despite all the uninstall nokia smart installer tricks and im at my wits end.

    thanks!

Yes, I just compiled a Symbian version without the installer. Please try it out. You can download it now from project site.

    Hi Tommy,
I liked Mee to do on the Nokia N8. Can you please develop a password manager for Nokia N8 too. I wonder how this feature got left out of an otherwise awesome phone.

Hi! This looks like a great app! Does it also run on Symbian 3 v5 devices? (Such as the C6-00) I’ve tried to install it (which worked), but cannot start the program now.
