Nelisquare Pre Alpha Download for Nokia N900

Now you can download the first pre alpha preview version of Nelisquare app. Nelisquare is a Foursquare client for Maemo and upcoming MeeGo devices. There might also be a version for Symbian^3 phones.

I’ll try to start using the repositories for distribution but at the moment you can download this preview from here:

Nelisquare Preview Video

I’ve started working on a simple Foursquare client, Nelisquare. It’s written in pure QML and JavaScript and plan is to have it working on the Maemo and MeeGo devices. It should run on Symbian^3 devices as well if really needed.

Here is a short video preview of the current pre alpha version of Nelisquare running on Nokia N900:

What do you think? What features would you like to see in Foursquare app?

Google Reader client NewsFlow v1.4 for Symbian and Maemo

Good way to start Easter holidays is to write few lines of Qt/QML/JavaScript. Now I spent some time with the NewsFlow app, which is a Google Reader client for Symbian, Maemo and MeeGo devices.

I was now able to add theme support to app by using single Theme QML object and chaning the properties dynamically in JavaScript. All UI components would then use the theme object’s properties for colors.

NewsFlow now supports light and dark themes

Other features in the release:

  • Show read items in list in lighter color
  • Share to Facebook/Twitter
  • Mark as unread is now working
  • Minimize on N900 by tapping top left corner

Kasvopus 0.9.4 with photo albums support

Few days ago I created a small poll on what features would you like to see in next version of Kasvopus, the Facebook client for Maemo, MeeGo and Symbian. There were hundreds of votes and these are the results:

Most wanted features to Kasvopus

So based on this I made a small changes to Kasvopus and now you are able to go easily to your friends wall directly from the status view and on the wall view you can write a comment on your friend’s wall or browse their photo albums. Please note that some users might have blocked photos from 3rd party apps even they are shown to you on Facebook page. From the albums list you can browse album thumbnails and photos. You can also like or comment individual photos.

Here is a small demonstration of albums feature in Kasvopus:

It’s still beta and buggy but go ahead and try downloading the latest version from kasvopus.com
